2008

March 2008:  Crossborder Group is proud to lead a team of Mexico experts -- including NAI-Mexico and Luce Forward -- on a project to assist a major European company with a site selection project in Mexico for their new manufacturing facility.

January-February 2008:  Our CrossborderTours division provides crossborder executive educational programs for UCSD's Global Leadership Institute, LEAD San Diego, and the LA Chamber's Southern California Leadership Network -- including both site visits to Tijuana, and briefing programs with border leaders in San Diego.

2007

December 2007:  Toll-road operator, South Bay Expressway, re-hires Crossborder Group to assist with crossborder marketing consulting services, and application of nearly 2,000 surveys along the San Diego-Tijuana border.

December 2007:  Crossborder Group expands into larger offices in San Diego -- located at 7851 Mission Center Court, Suite 302, San Diego, CA  92108.

November-December 2007:  Crossborder conducts truck surveys at five major commercial Ports of Entry along California, Arizona, and Texas borders (Otay Mesa, Nogales, El Paso-Ciudad Juarez, Laredo-Nuevo Laredo, and Pharr-Reynosa) for HDR|HLB Decision Economics Inc., Accenture, and their client -- the U.S. Department of Commerce.

November 2007:  Crossborder Group's executive education division, CrossborderTours.com, provides a series of one- and two-day executive and university educational tours of Baja California manufacturing operations for Chapman University's Executive MBA and undergraduate business students, as well as for UCSD's Global Leadership Institute's international executive program.

September 2007:  Crossborder retained by Orange County-headquartered metal manufacturing firm to assist with due diligence and Mexico permitting services for their Ensenada-based maquiladora (O.I. de México).

August 2007:  Crossborder Group de México offices in Tijuana, Baja California, begin initial operations (located at 3999 Av. Américas, Ste. 206, Plaza Castro, Tijuana [664-681-6049]).

August 2007:  Crossborder's President, Kenn Morris, invited by Nuevo León's Secretariat of the Economy to participate in meeting to support development of Monterrey's Bio Cluster (see article here [PDF, in Spanish]).

July 2007:  Crossborder Group's executive education division, CrossborderTours.com, provides two-day Mexico educational program for San Diego State University's Executive MBA program.

June 2007:  "Borderless Biotech & Mexico's Emerging Life Sciences Industry" briefing developed by Crossborder Group released by UCSD Extension/San Diego Dialogue.

April 2007:  Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce's Southern California Leadership Network hires Crossborder for planning and implementation of multi-day executive educational seminar involving San Diego and Baja California.

February 2007:  UCSD Extension/San Diego Dialogue retains Crossborder for year-long study into Mexico's emerging life sciences (biotechnology, biomedical device, health services) sectors in project funded by Merck.

January 2007:  San Diego's International Community Foundation contracts Crossborder for binational event and planning expertise for annual Gala (October 2007).

 

2006

November 2006:  Crossborder retained by the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce to assist with market research, public informational and strategic consulting.

October 2006:  HDR|HLB Decision Economics Inc. and Crossborder hired as team to undertake study of economic impact of border waits in Imperial Valley/Mexicali region.  Crossborder services include conducting more than 2,900 surveys at 3 Ports of Entry.

September 2006:  CBA contracted by Economics Research Associates to undertake crossborder demographic analyses, field surveys, and at-border surveys to assess demand of Baja California visitors for various retail and consumer services.

September 2006:  CBA's crossborder survey and consulting services retained by California Transportation Ventures/South Bay Expressway for crossborder market demand and demographic study that includes more than 1,500 surveys at Tijuana border crossings.

September 2006:  Regional business organization retains CBA to assist with market data collection and public education campaign.

August 2006:  CBA's Director, Kenn Morris, invited to become interim-member of prestigious San Diego District Export Council; official appointment by U.S. Secretary of Commerce expected by 2007.

June 2006:  California-based International Community Foundation once again retains Crossborder for maquiladora networking and strategic consulting services aimed at developing and promoting new crossborder campaign, MaquiladoraGiving.org.

April/May 2006:  Crossborder Business Associates in process of relaunching as Crossborder Group Inc. -- a new business structure to better leverage crossborder market research and industrial marketing services, crossborder educational & training services, and commercialization of products and services from Mexico -- stay tuned for more information!

April 2006:  Crossborder hired by SDSU to support development of crossborder student networking and internship project with universities in Mexico.

April 2006:  Crossborder's Director, Kenn Morris, speaks on technology panel for Mexico's ADIAT National Conference, held in Tijuana.

March 2006:  For the third-year in a row, participants in LEAD San Diego attend a one-day crossborder training program developed and organized by CBA, highlighting crossborder business, political, housing and cultural issues.

February 2006:  San Diego State University's Executive MBA program hires CBA for two crossborder executive educational tours to Baja California.

February 2006:  CBA hired for industrial marketing and promotional services by Baja California-based manufacturer of technology products.

January 2006:  Borderless Innovation -- the first study to assess prospects for mutually-beneficial economic development in crossborder technology clusters -- is released by UCSD's San Diego Dialogue.  Research for Borderless Innovation (nearly two years in the making) was led by CBA's Kenn Morris, who was also the lead co-author of the report.

2005

November/December 2005:  Crossborder hired by RLR Advertising, a major Hispanic advertising firm located in Southern California, to undertake at-border surveys along California-Baja California border for Fortune "Global 100" telecommunications company.

August 2005:  For the 7th year, CBA provides Chapman University's Executive MBA program with a one-day crossborder education program in Baja California.

July/August 2005:  Crossborder Business Associates retained by one of San Diego County's largest casinos to undertake crossborder market analysis and surveys of Baja California customers.

March 2005:  CBA chosen by the International Community Foundation and Synergos Institute for first-annual, borderwide survey of charitable giving by the maquiladora industry.  Survey results expected out in Fall 2005.

February 2005:  CBA's Director, Kenn Morris, asked to head San Diego Dialogue's Crossborder Innovation & Competitiveness Initiative during development of major study, Borderless Innovation.

February 2005:  For the second-year in a row, CBA provides LEAD San Diego -- the regional leadership training organization -- with a multi-faceted, one-day crossborder business, political and cultural training program for approximately 50 of their participants.

December 2004:  CBA completes third roundtable and report on Crossborder Pharmaceuticals Innovation & Clinical Trials for UCSD San Diego Dialogue's ongoing Crossborder Innovation & Competitiveness Initiative.

November 2004:  CBA's Director quoted in San Diego Union-Tribune article regarding Tijuana's 2004 elections.

August 2004:  For the 6th year in a row, CBA provides Chapman University's Executive MBA program with a one-day crossborder education program in Baja California.

August 2004:  CBA takes approximately 40 members of the prestigious women's leadership organization, Leadership California, to Tijuana on a one-day executive training program.

May 2004:  CBA's border retail research highlighted in two articles by the San Diego Business Journal -- one focused on crossborder shopping, the other on the expansion of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

May 2004:  CBA contracted by the border public policy group, San Diego Dialogue, to assist with organization's industry research projects and strategic planning.
